Report:

Sunny morning for our walk through the green bushy grounds of the former Gladesville Psychiatric Hospital and Bedlam Point.

Pleasing Parramatta River views were enjoyed at our morning tea spot, Looking Glass Point.

Walked past many new “castles “of cement and glass in the waterfront suburbs of Tennyson Point and Putney.

Glades Bay Park with the beautiful Wulaba Track to see aboriginal carvings and enjoy the board walk thru the mangroves along the Parramatta river. There is an incomplete connection to Bill Mitchell park so walked along a sloping sea wall.

Ryde Council has just announced they are going to fix this missing link of the Ryde River walk in Glades Bay. Then there will be only one more section to complete.....along part of Kissing Point Bay and this will connect the pleasant Putney Park to Meadowbank.

Reached Bennelong Park, near where Bennelong spent the last years of his life in James Squire's orchard. He was also buried nearby.

Then the rain came so it was a quick lunch stop as most of the group scattered to catch the next ferry.

A relaxed walk with an interested group taking in some history of this lower part of the Parramatta River.
